Testimony Time ~ My Personal Home Story (Living on a Porch to Homeowner)

This day, 3 years ago, my husband and I closed on our current home (🏡4/26/16). So what's the big deal? You'll understand after watching this video. It's a bit long, but trust me. To appreciate the AFTER, you have to understand the BEFORE! ⚠️Know that I am a pretty guarded person and I do not open up easily. So for me to make this video is a big deal, but while reflecting, I felt I should share to encourage someone. - Someone that thinks they'll never be able to own their own home. - Someone that thinks they've messed up too many times. - Someone that thinks their past determines their future. - Someone that has a dream or a goal, but they don't have the "HOW" yet. - Someone that is going or has gone through something really hard and their hope has diminished.

I hope this blesses you in some way! xoxoxox

Dance Mom Life - Hair & Make-up for Dance #browndancer

This is about the closest I will ever get to a  make-up tutorial on this channel 🙃. That is not my expertise, so I will leave it to the professionals.

Thankfully, I've learned enough to get my oldest daughter for her dance competition. Here is what the process looks like. And shot out to family... it takes a village as you'll see...

Braidlocs / Braidlocks - My Hair Journey Loc Story

Late 2012, I first learned about #Braidlocs on YouTube and it was a God-send!

After being traditionally locked for 11 years,

I combed out my dreads and rocked loose natural for about 2 years.

With 6 inches of hair at the time, Sisterlocks would have cost a pretty penny.

While looking for alternatives, I learned about Braidlocs.

About 2 years later I shaved the sides and and back #undercutonlocs.

In this video I share my loc journey, some pics and PROS & CONS.

If you have any questions, leave a comment and I'll answer them. Thanks for watching!

Enabling & Entitling - Don't Set Your Kids Up for Failure

If you are an 80's baby (or near it), you probably developed the mindset that when you had children, you would give them more than you had and and provide a "better" life for them.

Like me, I'm sure you have seen the negative effects of that mindset (even if not personally). This is a topic I'm familiar with and very passionate about.

While there is no perfect parent and no 1-way to parent, we do need to continually improve. We need to Realize, Accept and Do Better!

I believe enabling children breed an entitled mentality and it actually sets them up to fail in life. I'll debate anyone on that!

What are your thoughts on enabling children?

Have you noticed entitlement behaviors? If so, do you think their a product of enabling?

How to Fix a Bad Haircut with Toppik

Never in a million years who I have thought I'd like getting a haircut so much. When I think about it, it's the glam of getting a new do at the salon, BUT it takes less than 30 minutes. That is a WIN-WIN for me!

Every now and then I get a cut I'm not too fond of. This time my hair was cut too low. While I appreciate the fact that it lasts longer, it looks odd to me.

Most times, I'll split my hair down the middle and wear both sides down, but this morning it wasn't looking right. Kinda desperate because I had a closing that morning, before resorting to a hat which I could have pulled off because it's cold, I wanted to try something different. I didn't want to be in the celebratory, closing pictures with a hat on!

Luckily, I stumbled on a way to cope with a bad haircut until my hair grows out a bit. It was easy and did the job.

Have you ever had a bad haircut? If so, what was your solution until your hair grew back?

Planner Tabs - Chris-Wang 2 Sheets Self Adhesive Mini DIY Leather Tabs

In my Clever Fox Daily Planner video I mentioned I purchased monthly tabs to compliment my planner and I'm really pleased with them.

I started putting them on with no game plan, which resulted in me readjusting a few times until I got it just right.

*TIP
1) Place the first and last monthly tab where you want them. DON'T SEAL THEM YET.
2) Place the other months.
3) Once you're sure they are where you want them (spaced properly).
4) Seal them (press them together).

The great things about these tabs is that they have A LOT of stick to them. I readjusted the first few like 4 times and they still sealed just fine.

If you're interested in these tabs, you'll find them on Amazon. Click HERE.

They come in several colors, including a multi-color pack. I also want to add that they are extremely DURABLE! I carry my planner in my purse everyday and use it daily. Like I rely on my planner and I USE it! The tabs still look as good as new. Which is why I didn't go with a paper tab. I highly recommend these Chris-Wang 2 Sheets Self Adhesive Mini DIY Leather Tabs.

There is 1 QUIRK! It's hard to show it in pictures, but I'll do my best to point it out in the video. I'm use to putting my tabs on the right side of the month view. If you put the tabs on exactly as they come, (let's take January) 01 will be in the front and JAN will be on the back side.

The FIX is to place the tabs on the left side. I played around with it for a bit and got it to work out. When reading the Amazon reviews, some people still put it on the right side and dealt with JAN being on the front side and an UPSIDE DOWN 01 being on the back side.

I still have several left in the 1st sheet and a full sheet untouched. I'll find a use for them :-).

If you give these a try, let me now how you like them.

What tabs and planner decor do you use to make your planner your own? I'd love to know!
